In very old Wills a daughter born out of wedlock would often be written into her
Father's Will in this way:- I leave so much to ******** to be brought up by her
mother. Other possibly awkward daughters got a certain amount provided they accepted the
authority of the mother or brother.
One base son I found only because the legitimate son left estate to his base brother, in
these cases the amount the base brother received was substantial but a lot less than
legitimate line received.
