I wonder if anyone can help. I have 2 wills in my possession and both mention that the
deceased did not have property/goods in the Province of York. The question was asked of
the executors of the Wills. The reply was in the negative. The Wills were made in the
mid 1830's. What is so puzzling is that the farmers (who were the deceased) lived in
isolated areas of Dyfed. One in Castlebythe Pembrokeshire and the other in Llanarth
Ceredigion. They were not related to each other but one was my direct ancestor and the
other a possible distant relative. My question is why would the executors be questioned
about property in the diocese of York i.e. regarding the property of the deceased.
