The next meeting of the London branch of the Welsh Family History Societies
will take place next Saturday (29 September) at 2.00pm at the Society of
Genealogists, near the Barbican Tube station.
Dr Murray Chapman will talk about "In-migration of English families to
Western Montgomeryshire during the Tudor period".
Murray Chapman is an excellent speaker who transcribed and edited the book
"Criminal Proceedings in the Mongomeryshire Court of Great Sessions".

Army", the branch's latest publication "An Index of Welsh debtors in the
Court for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors, 1804-1862" index will shortly be
This is an index of Welsh people who were recorded in the London Gazette as
having gone through the Court for the Relief of Insolvent Debtors for
England [and Wales]. There are 6684 debtors indexed plus over a thousand
"reference" entries such as variant names, business partners, landlords,
relations and so on. An extensive 14 page introduction written by Stephen
van Dulken accompanies the index.
It will be sold as a 10 fiche set, the price of which will be determined on
Saturday. Any profits made from the sale of the fiche goes towards the
running costs of the branch.
