Subject: The Davies family who came to America in 1700's
I saw your query re a Davies family coming to America in the 1700's.
is quite a common name in Wales, especially in CMN and CGN. However,
in America did this family settle? Do you know what religion they
they own land and property? Did they leave a will? Were they in
American Revolutionary War? Did they pay a tax? Did they sign an oath of
allegiance? Also, are you certain you have the immigrant? There was not
that much Welsh migration between 1720 and 1795 in America. There were
that came but be certain that you are looking at the immigrant rather
his son or grandson. Have you looked at Peter Wilson Coldham's on the
Emigrants to America? Most genealogical libraries will have them.
