The BT's are a transcription made by the parish clerk or the vicar of the
parish register and sent to the Bishop each year (Lady Day, I believe).
While it's *supposed* to be an exact copy, sometimes entries are missed in
the transcribing, sometimes they're changed (I have a lady who's age at
burial is 54 in the BT's and 70 in the PR) and sometimes entries are added
that were perhaps scrawled on a scrap of paper and not entered into the
original PR but remembered while preparing the BT's. It's recommended
practice to check both sources, if possible.

Are BT's a straightforward copy of Parish Registers, am I likely to find
ancestor in one and not the other?
