I'm looking for any information I can find about a Benjamin
distant relative of mine who attended Highbury College in London (for
dissenting ministers?) somewhere around 1828 to 1833, when he moved to
Tenby after "failing to get an invitation as pastor". I have no info.
about him before or after that time other than that he was no longer alive
in 1874. I believe he was born in Carmarthenshire (near Llanboidy) Wales
and guess that he was born about 1810. The only reference I have to
Benjamin Williams (including this information) was found in The Homilist
(sp) by David Thomas 1879 under "ministers I have known".
I read that in the 1830s Highbury college only had about 40 students so I
thought I might find something there. I contacted a Highbury College to
see if they had any alumni info for that time period but I apparently
didn't get the right college (The one I found was in Portsmouth). I
haven't been able to find the college or any contact information for it
online. Does anyone have contact information for that college?
Any information you might have (or any suggestions as to finding
information) would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you. Lea
