Hello Maria -
Welcome to the Donauschwaben List!
I am the Village Coordinator for Glogowatz - now Vladimirescu -- come and
meet me and my family at
It is so nice of you to offer your helping hands to all of us.
My Hungarian family came from Glogowatz and Ujpanat - I have learned so much
and enjoyed it.
Please - no excuses for your English writing. You are doing very well --
many of us must admit we cannot even try to write Hungarian or German. My
father spoke German although I only learned that from my aunt some time this
year. I guess by the time I was born he was not speaking German often - but
apparently he did some translating for the telephone company when he started
working there around 1926.
My name is Susan Williams nee Sander - I am 59, married with two daughters
age 31 and 28. My Hungarian family came to the United States in 1911 when
my father was 9 months old. I was born in New York City and now live about
two hours from there in the state of New Jersey. If you have any questions
about my country, please feel free to write. Or if I can help you in any
way -- maybe sending articles to you in English for your students. Do you
also teach English to them?
I hope you continue enjoying our list and hope to hear from you too. Take
care. Susan W.
