Dr. Thomas Thornton has sent the following information on the past Tag der Donauschwaben
held in Mansfield in 2003. Jacob Hunsinger, of the Liederkranz where the event is
taking place, expects a bigger crowd this year.
Dr. Thornton sends:
"I believe the estimated attendance in 2003 was around 2000 people. However, since
children under 12 are admitted free, there were no ticket sales information to guess on
this particular group of attendees. So, probably between 2-3 thousand if the attendance
is at least the same as before. It was held for the first time in Mansfield in 2003. I
know I have been getting emails since last year regarding lodging information, so that
always goes first. The clubs have a deadline of July 31 to register their groups, so many
of these will not be available until after July 31. ( I suspect that this is always last
minute registration, no matter what city is hosting the event."
