Dear list members!
I need to share a great work and source, that has gone online now.
My researcher fellow Michael Geringer from Germany invested a lot of time
and energy to digitalise the two most important books about Weißkirchen im
Michael Geringer father was from Weißkirchen, he also has this website
The books are free to download (it are big data documents, the download
could take some time), they are searchable with text search (!!!) and the
photographs can be copied out of the pdf-Documents. Michael Geringer¹s goal
is to make this sources free and searchable for all people with Bela Crkva
ancestry and to connect these people and keep the memory alive. As my
grandfather Johann Ring was from Bela Crkva, it is also a heart project for
It are two books, several hundreds of pages filled with informations, names,
dates and photographs, that have been written and collected in an incredible
year lasting work by the Weißkirchner survivor Josef Andreas Kauer. Andreas
Kauer is an honorable mid-80 year old Weißkirchner who lives in Linz,
Austria. I met him twice and have been in phone contact with him a few
times. Every time I have been deeply impressed by the knowledge and memory
of this great man.
Here are the Download-Links:

Geringer for making this source useable in this way.

This group mailing list is associated with Donauschwaben Villages Helping Hands, Inc. [DVHH.org], a non-profit volunteer project assisting researchers of Danube Swabian heritage. It is a bilingual English-German mailing list for anyone with an interest in the former Danube Swabian (ethnic German) villages situated in the seven regions which were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918: Banat, Batschka, Hungarian Highlands, Sathmar, Swabian Turkey, Syrmia and Slavonia. Bulgaria is also included. We help researchers discover their Danube Swabian ancestral roots, history, environs, culture and lifestyle.
