Also for anyone who may be able to help me, my branch of Krausz/Kraus/Krauss are Roman Catholic. I know there may be a Jewish line as I know for example Julius Krausz has a Photographic Studio in Temeswar and also in Lugosch, but he is Jewish. I figure there is a relationship there, and would love to discover connections and history, but my ggrandfather and family were Roman Catholic.
Thanks very much, again.

Does anyone know if there is a FB for Pecska? If so, could someone do a lookup for surname Krausz/Kraus/Krauss. The surname as used by my greatgrandfather was Krausz, Gyorgy, but my grandfather who emigrated to US immediately reverted to George Kraus. I am brickwalled at ggrandfather born in Pecska c.1862..wife Eva Schlosser died in childbirth c. 1894 probably in Warjasch/Varias...grandfather Georg Kraus born in Warjasch 1885/sisters Katieria 1882 & Ferenczene 1881. Grandfather emigrated with uncle Anton Lillin and his wife Katharina and son Vilmos in 1905 thru Bremen to NYC. I have the Immigration list for their departure/arrival but cannot find them listed in any "Ship's Lists" like David Dryer, etc.
I have read that Warjasch has a date gap around the 1860s, but if I could verify next generation back from gggrandfather staying in Pecska where he was born and find Eva S. that would be a huge break in my wall!
My ggrandfather with his new wife Gyorgene Kornet/Kornett? and two new children Velma and Maria with 2nd wife came over in 1907 and then went back. My ggf died in Pecska and I have his photo ID for his Commune Rovine/Rovina Adm. District in Pecica from 1928 so clearly he died after that date.
Has anyone done cemetery lists for any of these villages much like what FindaGrave does?
I have lots of Krausz families all over in Nemetszentpeter where my ggrandfather was living in 1907, in Bogorosch, in Perjamos, in Mercydorf, in Hodon, in Zichydorf, and I have the record for PETER KRAUS who came from somewhere in Schwartzwald with the first settlers of Batsch-Sentiwan in 1765 and in two years of recorded arrival had moved on to probably the area of all the villages I have mentioned but until I crack the wall at my ggrandfather in Pecska I have fragments on either side but am missing the sourced bridge I need around 1850s/1860s.
Thank You All Very Much for Anything you may be able to help with!!
Thanks Glenn, that's great. Just what I needed.

I included an Andreas and Elisabeth from the listings, but there is a discrepancy in Elisabeth's date of death. Will require some detective work to sort out whether these are the right people and which is the correct date.

Greetings: Hope someone can help me...I have been making Linserteig cookies for Christmas over 50 years or so...I refrigerate the mixed dough sometimes for a couple of weeks and everything is fine when I make it into cookies.....Christmas is a very busy time and I have time on my hands right now in August or September...am wondering if the mixed dough can be put in the freezer...for 2 or 3 months with positive results when it's time to roll, cut and bake...the recipe does have sour cream in it...would the thawed dough be mush? Also, what is your version of "stomach foolers"?
I received this week my copy of Nikolaus Horn’s Familienbuch GroßKomlosch. It is wonderful. I am finding hundreds of ancestors. If you know that you have any ancestors from this village, I recommend you order a copy while it is available. For ordering information contact Karen Dalton Preston. karen(a)golden-hills.com I think it is important to support these authors who work to produce a volume for us documenting our ancestors. They hardily deserve our support and thanks.

I am seeking my "Jung" great grandmother, who was named Sophia Jung. I show
a Sophia Jung from Botschar born in 1885 coming over in 1904; it happens to
be the same boat my great granfather John Bambach from Deutsch Zerne was on,
which seemed to be enough of a coincidence that I think that may be here. I
also show a Nikolaus Jung coming to the US also from Botschar, perhaps they

Jakob Schuy has completed the New OSB for Kolut in der Batschka. The Parish
Registers for 1760-1826 were used. The place of origin in the Black Forest
area for about 100 of the early Kolut settlers has now been determined by Mr
Schuy. This information was not available when the 1st Kolut OSB was
published by the Englaenders. The new book will be published in October and
consists of 360 pages. The price will be between 40-50 euros plus shipping.
Mr Schuy is now requesting to hear from those interested in purchasing this
new OSB so he can determine how many books to order from the Publisher. His
address is: (You may write in English or German)
Breslauer Strasse 12
If anyone has any questions, I will do my best to answer them.
I'm looking for information on the "Jung" & "Burghardt" families, in particular Maria Jung b. abt Apr 1902 in
Deutsch Zerne (Srpska Crnja)? Her father's name was Peter and her mother's was Barbara Burghardt.
Also Maria Jung married Stefan Schira about Dec. 1925 in Jimbolia (Hatzfeld).
Any and all information on "Jung" & "Burghardt" would be appreciated.
Trying to find out more information for Peter Schira b. 1860 in Tschestereg married Magdalena Reichardt b. 1862 in Tschestereg
they went to Zipar and then to Giseladorf. Had 2 sons and a daughter all born in Giseladorf - Sebastian 1893, Magdalena 1898 and Stefan 1903. They apparently had some children in Zipar and another in Giseladorf. Any and all information would be helpful.
Can someone with access to the Neupetsch FB tell me if there is an entry for Stefan Simon and Adelheid Prinz? Stefan is born 1 Sep 1887 in GroßKomlosch. I am seeking whatever information is available on them. Thanks.

This group mailing list is associated with Donauschwaben Villages Helping Hands, Inc. [DVHH.org], a non-profit volunteer project assisting researchers of Danube Swabian heritage. It is a bilingual English-German mailing list for anyone with an interest in the former Danube Swabian (ethnic German) villages situated in the seven regions which were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918: Banat, Batschka, Hungarian Highlands, Sathmar, Swabian Turkey, Syrmia and Slavonia. Bulgaria is also included. We help researchers discover their Danube Swabian ancestral roots, history, environs, culture and lifestyle.
