It's great to hear from everyone (onlist and those that wrote to me
The computer is wonderful for research, but I have gotten spoiled and
expect to find everything yesterday. hahah.... Although I have joined
some of the services that charge for their information, I prefer the
RootWeb lists ( www.rootsweb.com
) are probably my favorite, but I like
Cyndi's Lists ( www.cyndislists.com
) and the archives at USGenWeb
). I couldn't get through the week with checking
these three at least once. I'm always looking for new web sites, so
when you find one that is really helpful, I hope that you will let all
of us know the URL.
There are a lot of volunteers on different RootsWeb site that make
researching a little bit easier for those of us that can't get out and
about like we would like to be able to do, (for instance, the NORCAL
(Northern California) list). Without their help in getting obituaries,
etc., I would never have known some of the mother's maiden names and
family members, places and dates, etc.
Right now I'm stuck on Immigration lists and Ships lists. There are a
lot on the web, but naturally none of my ancestors came over on any of
those ships. :-( So I'm always looking for new lists and archives.
Also new areas to research. The census, land deeds, city directories,
etc., only tell me enough to whet my interest to know more about these
These are most of the names that I am researching:

privately, I have information to share on most of them.
Bye for now,
