I was injured at work and am dealing with both cervical and lumbar problems.
At the present time they are redoing all my testing as I had to find a WC
physician, as my first one returned to where his family resides, and it has
been over a year since all tests were completed. I just had both upper and
lower nerve conduction tests to ascertain what is going on, and will be going
for new sets of MRI. Basically the studies have confirmed the original
findings, damage to C3, C4, and C5, as well as damage to L5, L6 and S1.
As to discomfort, do not be shy in telling the tech doing the testing that he
or she is hurting you. The nerve is being stimulated so it feels somewhat
like a muscle spasm that has gone too far. The persons who did mine were
wonderful as they listened and made sure I was as comfortable as could be
under the restrictions they had in order to get the tests done correctly.
I began researching my family in 1998, and one side has been found all the
way back to the early 1800s. The other three sides remain a mystery. Since
they have names that are quite common it will be difficult to find them-but I
keep trying via my computer and contacts I have made on the net.
I am glad to see some responses on this list, as since I joined some time
ago, very little has ever been sent :)
