I am responding to a posting dated 12/3/2003 regarding Caroline County,
Maryland. I am sorry that I am late responding to this posting, as I am just
getting over a terrible case of the flu.
Caroline County, Maryland was established by 1774 from portions of Queen
Anne's, Talbot, and Dorchester County, Maryland. It borders the State of Delaware.
I thought this virtual County formation map of Maryland might be helpful to
those on the list researching in the Maryland area. It is a formation map of
the dates that Counties were established in Maryland. Just click on the play
button or view the links below that to view year by year.
Other state / county formation maps may be viewed by clicking the links on
the lower left hand corner of this site.
(p.s. perhaps Genies reseaching the State of Maryland may find parts of my
webpage helpful. Best viewable in Internet Explorer.

This is my beginning place to get Caroline Co., MD. All counties are
clickable for research.
Carolyn, did not know that MD also had a Caroline Co. This county had been
mentioned in some Burton Papers I have and I have been looking in VA only for
Caroline. Now will check other colonies for this county name. Cecil is not
far from Caroline either.
