Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
This is just part of this newsletter. Thought maybe the items I have
be of interest to some one on the list. Also the Archives are listed as well
as how to subscribe if you so desire to.

o I found THE HISTORY OF THE JONES FAMILY OF HENDERSON,
KENTUCKY, by Otey Sherman Jones, Jr., M.D. July 1974, in a used
book store in central Missouri. Some of the ancestors mentioned
are Nicholas STALLINGS Jr. and Sr., William Updike VREELAND,
Francis Paul JONES, Otey Sherman JONES, Jr. and Sr., Phillip
Barbour JONES, Sr., and others. The book is not well documented
but is interesting and will be great for clues. I will send it
to a descendant for postage. It is 106 pages (8 1/2 x 11).

o If you are trying to find a home for Civil War documents
which refer to a soldier who lived, died, or served in Ohio,
please consider giving them to The Ohio Genealogical Society
Library, in Mansfield, Ohio. The OGS sponsors a lineage
society called "The Society of Civil War Families of Ohio."
This is not just a social group but an attempt to collect and
preserve data on each soldier who served. We have approved
almost 700 soldiers so far and their records are on file at the
library and available for research.
