Do you thing this might have become Foley? (If the "e" was pronounced)
This name used to be spelled FOLLY in North Devon, but it has come to be
FOLEY nearly all over now.
One of my ancestors was called FURZE (silent "e") but when they came out to
Canada some people pronounced the "e" and we got FURZEY/FURSEY over
here. Working in exactly the opposite way!
Wouldn't hurt to check out some Foley info to see if any of it links up.
