Hi, Wonder if there is any information on a Thomas Worth (c1783-1810) who
died at Cadiz.
Not sure where he comes from and someone has put him on my little tree.

Thanks Liz for those references.
Doing some more searches throws up a couple of similar references for Peter
Jope (in Devon Records Office archives):
1756: Peter Jope, Captain of a Company in Col. Roger's Regiment of Foot and
First Builder's Assistant (in HM Yard); Stoke Damerel
1761: Peter Jope, assistant to the master shipwright in HM Yard; Stoke
I think Peter Jope was the father of George Jope who married Samuel
Mansfield's daughter Ann.
According to peerage.com
citing George Edward Cokayne, editor, The Complete
Baronetage, Sir Frederick Rogers was the Commissioner of the Dockyard. I
assume he is the colonel of the regiment mentioned in these references -
interesting, because he was a Captain in the Navy.
I wonder what the regiment was.
The full entry for him is as follows:
Sir Frederick Rogers, 4th Bt. was baptised on 24 October 1716 in Cornwood,
Devon, England. He was the son of Sir John Rogers, 2nd Bt. and Mary Henley.
He married, firstly, Grace Cooper, daughter of Nathaniel Cooper-Leman and
Mary Edisbury, on 19 April 1742 in East Stonehouse, Devon, England. He
married, secondly, Catherine Vincent, daughter of Thomas Vincent, on 17 May
1768 in Stoke Damerel, Devon, England.1 He died on 7 June 1777 at age 60 in
Bath, Somerset, England.1 He was buried on 13 June 1777 in Cornwood,
Devon.1His will (dated 8 August 1775) was probated on 2 July 1777.
Sir Frederick Rogers, 4th Bt. gained the rank of Captain in the service
of the Royal Navy. He was Commissioner of the Plymouth Dockyard.1 He held
the office of Recorder of Plymouth. He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet
Rogers, of Wisdome, co. Devon [E., 1699] on 20 December 1773. He lived in
Blachford, Cornwood, Devon, England.
