My grandmother was Gladys BATSTONE; her father William BATSTONE married 1880
Louisa STENTIFORD BAILEY (b. 1855 OCT 1).
According to Louisa's marriage certificate, Louisa was a school[mistress] in
Aylesbeare, and her father was James BAILEY a builder. The 1891 census
shows my grandmother Gladys staying with her grandparents James and Harriet
BAILEY (born abt. 1833 Newton). One might speculate that Harriet's maiden name
"The STENTIFORD Family Magazine" _http://www.stentiford.org/_
) is a good source for STENTIFORD Information.
* Issue 38: a Harriet STENTIFORD (born abt. 1832 Newton) is mentioned as a
daughter of William STENTIFORD and Mary WILLIAMS.
* Issue 17: Harriet's grandparents are identified as Richard STENTIFORD and
Hopefully, there might be marriage or parish records to substantiate that it
was really a Harriet STENTIFORD who married James Bailey.
