Deborah has already kindly stepped in and indicated that further
discussion of DNA which is not related to Devon is OFF-TOPIC.
So let me add two things:
- Discussions of what is and what is not off-topic are themselves
OFF-TOPIC, for the obvious reason that they could easily degenerate
into a flame war.
- Anyone who, like the original poster of the message about DNS,

off-topic, should very clearly and firmly indicate that any follow-up
must be by direct email, and not via the list. But, better still,
please resist such temptations.
There are hundreds of genealogy mailing lists out there - Devon-L is
intended only for Devon genealogy.
For a detailed explanation of what is and what is not on-topic for Devon-L see:

And for a lengthy list of mailing lists related specifically to DNA, see:
PS It's "Genealogy" not "Geneology" - and most search facilities
don't allow for such misspellings, though Google kindly asks "Did you
mean: genealogy?" :-)
