Hi Bev -- Just Google ["Nellie Edmunds" artist] and find:
Edmunds, Nellie Hepburn – (1881 – 1953) British portrait painter and
Nellie Edmunds was the daughter of Henry Chase Edmunds, and studied art
under Fred Brown at the Slade School, and with Mouat Loudan at the
Westminster School of Art. She specialized as a painter of miniatures and
began exhibiting her work at the Royal Academy whilst a student at Slade,
and her career as an exhibitor spanned five decades. Her work was also
exhibited in several prestigious international exhibitions, and one of her
miniatures is preserved in the Victoria and Albert Museum, in Kensington,
London. Edmunds served as the vice-president of the Royal Society of
Miniature Painters from 1912. Nellie Hepburn Edmunds died (Feb 14, 1953) at
That 1881 appears to be wrong. Ancestry has a public tree including Ellen
Mary "Nellie" EDMUNDS, born Norwood, Surrey, 1870, who appears as Ellen M
EDMUNDS, age 1, in the 1871 Norwood census, daughter of Henry E
(mistranscribed C) EDMUNDS. Diane and Tim have found other records for the
Google also finds images of some of her paintings.
There was a Henry EDMUNDS and family family in Kingsbridge but they seem to
be red herrings.

Hope this helps, and yes, you are right - no Kelly as a given name.

Would SKS please look at the image to see when she was born? Is the year
correct, because not too many people were named Kelly in 1870. I think
there is a mistake in her date of birth.
I am trying to figure out who she is.
