Cawsand - now in Cornwall, but previously in Devon.
Overlooking Plymouth Sound, to the south west of Plymouth.
Neighbouring village is Kingsand.

Is there a place called Cawson in Devon?
I've looked in the Gazetteer and can't find anywhere with that name.
The marriage register for the Town Church, St Peter Port, Guernsey
includes the record
"Thomas Ray, the son of Thomas Ray, of the town of Faversham in Kent
and Phillis Burt, the daughter of John Burt, of the town of Cawson in
the County of Devon, were married together on the 28 May 1805"
but I can't find Cawson.
