Hi, just joined this list. Only have one surname at this time. It is
Starr, this is the only information I have on the Starrs and sure would
like to prove some of it.
John Starr I was born between 1485-1500 He lived in or near Beere . his
oldest son John II purchased "The Manor of Beere" in the year 1550. his
John III, obtained a part of the manor he had a son named William
William 5th son was John Starr IV he died in 1646 and is buried in the
Paris Church of Beere.
John Starr IV had a son of course named Capt. John Cannan?? Starr he
fought under Cormwell and was in Ireland, after the fighting he either
returned or stayed in Ireland, were he raised his family and some of
them came to America.
Would like to find out if anyone knows of the Manor of Beere and or has
seen anything on the Starr family.
The only thing I have found is a mention of a Starr in Devon on the
Family Tree maker Volume 11 is
William Starr b. 1543-1571 from Colyton Devonshire, who married on 20
Feb. 1587/88 to a Joane Mitchell b. 08 April 1571 also from Colyton,
daughter of John (Mychell) Mitchell and Emlyn Weeks.
