My husband (who was born in Wales) has Heath ancestors, among them a Samuel
Heath baptised 1787 at Churston Ferrers in Devon. It is possible your
Samuel is one of his descendants. If you want any information on this
Heath line let me know but I'm not as far forward as 1845 on any of them
except my husband's line where a female Mary Ann Heath married a Peter
Sharpham at Brixham. However, the Sharpham people originally came from
Totnes where your Samuel Heath was born so there probably is a connection.

I take it that Samuel was born in Devon?
The only Samuel HEATH of the correct age in the 1851 census of Devon was
living in the Union Workhouse in Totnes. If this is the correct person
it, unfortunately, does not help with his parentage, but it does give a
place of birth from which you could try to find his baptism record.
