I have been asked by Devon Record Office to post the following:-
regret to announce that because of a large reduction in our budget
which has led to the restructuring of the service and the loss of
several staff members, a number of aspects of our service will be
changing as from Tuesday 1st November.
From that day onwards we will
be closing to the public at 5
p.m. each day. No original records will
be produced between 1 and 2 p.m., or after 4 p.m..

also no longer operating a Research Service. If people require
research using records which we hold, we are recommending that they
contact the Devon Family History Society or the Association of
Genealogists and Researchers in Archives.
