Jean, John, others,
You have the title slightly wrong - it is Alumni
Oxonienses. I searched Internet Archive (www.archive.org
) and found 16
volumes available for free download. There were four volumes in the
1500-1714 series. I haven't yet downloaded the 1715-1886 series so don't
know how many volumes there were. There are also 2 volumes of 1880-1892 on
the site. I think there are likely to be a few duplicates in the first two
I'd recommend downloading as .pdf files since they use
OCR for their text version and it doesn't do a good job on old books.

Subject: [DEV] Oxford University Alumni 1500-1714
In looking for one of my old fellows who was the Rector of Cotleigh in the
late 1600s, I found that the British History online web site now has the first
volume of Joseph Foster's Alumni of Oxford University.
Many of these early Devonians attended Exeter College at that university but
the joy of Foster's volumes is that he often includes not only their place of
origin but also the name of their father. So far there is only the first of
Foster's volumes here but maybe more are to come??
Alumni Oxienses 1500-1714: the members of the University of Oxford - Joseph
Vol 1 A- Kyte can be found at:
Joseph Foster did another set of Oxford Alumni volumes from 1715 to a much
later date and all of his volumes can probably be found in any large library
of major cities worldwide.
