Following on to the recent postings, I have a christening for a lad in Suffolk in 1812 and
he is listed as 'natural son of Mary Pallant, Widow'. I had presumed that as she
was a widow, the deceased husband was the father., and that he must have died after Mary
became pregnant. Is this presumption wrong ?. Is the lad actually 'base born' and
the husband died before the required 9months pregnancy. If so, perhaps thats why I
can't find his death listed in the parish regs.
