Could SKS please check the 1861 census for :
Theresa WHEELER, John WHEELER
Thomas PERRY, Elizabeth PERRY
The PERRY family were living in Fore Street, East Stonehouse
I suspect that they could still be there in 1861 because there was a birth in Stonehouse 1862.

Am I missing something in your requests? You are writing to the DEVON List, not an Irish List.
I am at a loss to understand the Irish connection unless your Irish ancestors went to Devon at some point.

The Poor Law Commission of 1832 reported that two thirds of the parishes in
Devon in their 1832 sample were giving child allowances as part of their
poor relief system and that Devon was classified as a Speenhamland county.
Is anyone aware of any research into the systems of poor relief used in some
or all Devon's parishes.
The population in Devon in the first half of the nineteenth century grew at
a significantly lower rate than the average for rural districts in England
and Wales. Perhaps that might partly explain why we all have relatives all
over the world.

Can you tell me if there are any other sources that I might be able to
check for 1852 to 1865. Perhaps I might be able to follow the paper
trail to see if this man gradually appears with another occupation. I
know here in Canada, that if I have the proper address that I can
check year after year to see what occupation a particular person had.

I am seeking to exchange information with others with connections to the
Kenwood family of Woodbury, Whimple, Exeter, Kenn, Otterton, etc. As far as
I know all Devon Kenwoods are related.
