I am trying to find a connection between my ggggrandfather, Tristram
Coffin, born 1605 in Brixton Parish, outside of Plymouth, and the
Coffins who lived at Portledge Manor, outside Bideford. Tristram was
the son of Peter Coffin, (born abt 1580, died in Brixton Parish in
1628), and the grandson of Nicholas Coffin (1550-1613), who lived at
Butlers, Brixton Parish.
Tristram was the supposed progenitor of all the Coffins in America,
but it has not been proved that he was actually related to the Portledge
Anyone out there doing any research on the Coffins that might be able
to give me a hand? Thanks.
