you may find the following information useful. Please note that the
information was provided by the DeWitt Museum at Williamsburg so I am
confident that it is correct.
One chain is four poles with 100 links per chain. Each link is 7.92
Two poles are 33 feet.
There are 320 poles per mile.
There are 160 square poles per acre.
There are 10 square chains per acre.
