A mailing list for the discussion and sharing of information
regarding the Deed Mapper software program. This program is used by
researchers working with land patents, grants, and deeds to
create land ownership maps of years gone by.
Discussion is what usually transpires here although that also falls
into the sharing of information. I believe that most subscribers
are interested in the list for the occasional help they receive from
it. On the other hand, if subscribers posted a message regarding the
areas of interest (especially if they intend posting their work to
the DeedMapper site, that could be seen as sharing of information.
By default, discussion is "the sharing of information." Even, the common use
of the word "hello" indicates that one person recognizes the presence of
another and is sharing that information. If someone doesn't want to share the
area that they are working on then they choose not to discuss it, therefore, not
share that information. The subject matter is within the confines of the use
of DeedMapper and platting. Using a roll call to help discover whether two
people are duplicating work helps those two people. It also allows others to
know what we can look forward to later and hopefully save ourselves some time.
