With respect to your Mapdraw files and importing them into Deedmapper,
do you know if the Mapdraw files are in a proprietary format or,
hopefully, plain text? Or a commonly used DB format such as dBase? If
they are not proprietary, chances are they can be imported in some
fashion but depend somewhat on just how they are laid out.
Someone in this group may have already done this or knows an easy way
to do it. If not, please send an example Mapdraw file and I'll take a
look at the feasibility.
Take care... Peter Bradish
P.S. On Wednesday morning I will be leaving my present location of
Washington state in a motor coach for Alaska so my Internet connectivity
will be somewhat inconsistent so don't think I've dropped off the edge
of the earth or am ignoring messages, I'll just be in the wilderness of
the north. :-) P.

Before using Deedmapper, I used a couple of other programs such as
Black Oak Mapper and another Deedplotter and Mapdraw....
In Map draw, there was a keying feature which I really liked that
allowed for spedier entry - keys for n/s and e/w could be any key and
the first tap was one, second tap anoterh unless you tappeed the
correct initial first, then a tab to the next entry, one did not need
to hit an arrow key.
These were great for a non-typist like myself.....
The biggest frustration in using Deedmapper was the acciddental
earasure of "end" and the resulting corpping of the deed info before
and erroe exclamations stopped the crop - much closer to teh top of
teh deed description than teh bottom - and a hgh occurrrence of
lock-up of teh computer at that point- and loss of data...
The lock-up problem happens at other times as well, but an autosave
feature would be nice when one finishes a deed..
But as to the the point of the topic....
I have discs from Mapdraw that have hundreads of deeds, surveys and
granst that I have never felt like reinputting into Deedmapper. I
saved this in folders by county---
So I would be interested in a database utility to capture data from
other plotting programs to import into Deedmapper!!
Would be most interested in some way to do this!!
