Subject: [DMU] New feature, so far
Thanks to all who have responded so far. A couple of main points have emerged:
1. The demo just plunks the owner name in the center of the parcel and this can result in
overlapped names. Unacceptable.
(DeedMapper uses more sophisticated logic to try to find a clear space to put names.
I'll send a separate mail about
names/overlaps.)
2. People would like to select a parcel, see it highlighted, and then view it in the Table
View. Selecting an item in the Table
View should navigate to a highlighted parcel in the Plot View. Mike's awesome example
shows a nice method of highlighting a parcel.
I'd like to emphasize a few things in order to stir the pot:
. The demo creates a web site of your whole project, not a particular portion.
. The demo always displays owner names. Not labels, IDs, area, etc. The Display menu
doesn't control what's displayed.
. The demo scales all text and line widths by factors of two as you zoom, so text becomes
illegible pretty quickly. DeedMapper
tries to keep text legible.
