Folks, I submitted part of this a while back. I've looked it over
here is the wording on the old deed in question. Can someone out there draw
a map with this for me? I really could use the help.
Okay, I have drawn it,, but it sure doesn't look like anything to
me. In playing around with it, try expanding the view a bit until
you can get something near recognizable. Take a look at the
beginning leg and you will see that it doesn't quite meet the final
leg. Instead, the final leg goes past the beginning point. This led
me to think that the direction of the beginning leg is off
somewhat. Changing the beginning leg direct to ten degrees instead
of one degree moves the point too far and leaving a gap. A gap like
this is not unusual, but it seemed to be too much for this small a
piece of land. Then I got to thinking that 7 and 1 are often
mistaken and tried N7W and the plot seems to fit perfectly. I
suggest going back to the original deed and see if the 1 degree isn't
really 7 degrees.
The result should (by my thinking( be a long rectangle with a notch
out of the upper left corner. The resulting area calculates out to
be 1.01 acres which matches the deed's estimate.
Hope this helps -
