Peter Lehue's 972 acre grant is three miles East of Warrenton, Va on
Mill Run. The northern border is on Lunsford's Mtn.
The Belle Air Plantation is in Charles City County. I am trying to
prove with the help of this software that the Belle Air Plantation
Manor house is on Richard Bradford's former 1197 acre plantation. The
hardest part for me is reading these old patent records. If you can
get past the handwriting and the terminology your halfway there. The
deedmapper software itself is very good.
Here's a link to Peter Lehue's 1724 patent. Just click on the document
after you open the link. This one looks readable.
Location: Stafford County. Description: 972 acres beginning at Mann
Page's corner in the fork of Cedar Run. Source: Northern Neck Grants
A, 1722-1726, p. 128, folio (Reel 290).
I think most of the early Virginia patent records are available online
at the LVA website.

Hi - I just joined this list - I just found out about this software
and wanted to check out the mailing list before doing anything.
Gary, the Belle Air Plantation - is that the one in Frederick county
around Front Royal, I think? or in Charles City County?
My people would be the Lehew/Lahue's and we were in Frederick and
Stafford back in the late 1600s. Lord Fairfax actually granted land
to Peter Lehue in 1672 for 752 acres (or some huge number) but I don't
know if we ever actually lived on that land. I know we did live in
Frederick county around Front Royal, VA. and I think I recall seeing
deeds mentioning Happy Creek.
any and all thoughts and suggestions would be very helpful
thank you for your time
