I have a deed for one acre of land in Brown County, Ohio (SW corner of
OH). The deed identifies the corner locations as a "Stone".
My question is: was the stone marking corners in the mid 1800s usually a
large unmovable stone & was the stone usually chiseled out with an X or
something. I wanted to visit the site in question and try and locate the
original corners if possible.
Another question I have is: Has anyone heard of a new revision of
Deedmapper coming out anytime soon? There was talk of one coming out 2
or 3 years ago. I continue to hope that the next revision will fix my
problem in deedmapper where my corner notation doesn't line up with the
deed corners but shows up all over the place instead. Steve tried to
help me figure it out but without success.
I have used deedmapper for years now on the same XP OS and did not
always have the problem. One day for no reason, the text names ID'ing
the corners just did not line up anymore.
