In Feb 2007 the question was raised about using DeedMapper on a Mac
computer and Parallels was mentioned as a method. I am a PC user and a
(new) Mac user with Parallels. DeedMapper version 3 works the same on a
Mac Intel computer using Windows XP in Parallels as with a PC computer
using Windows XP. The recently announced version 4.0 of DeedMapper
should also work with no problems.
I do not allow Windows to access the Internet from the Mac to keep it
free from malware but I can download Deed Data Pool files to the Mac and
drag and drop them to the file I use for the DeedMapper deed files. When
I open DeedMapper in XP on the Mac these files are available and
everything works the same as when using XP on a PC.
Parallels only works on the Intel Mac and sells for $80 but some vendors
offer it for $10 if you buy a Mac from them.
Other programs that support Windows applications on a Mac Intel computer
are Boot Camp, VMWare Fusion and CrossOver Mac but Parallels is
currently the most popular.
