I am thinking about purchasing Deed Mapper. Most of my land work has been
in the Public Land states so I have always mapped them out by hand. I have
also done individual parcels using Metes and Bounds when I have had to :)
I am doing a case study right now that is going to require me to map out at
least 20 parcels using metes and bounds and it is just going to be a whole
of work that I don't want to do so I figured this would be a good time to
invest in a program. I have looked at several programs, some cheaper, some
more expensive so Deed Mapper is in the middle which I like.
My questions are:
1) How hard is it to learn the program? Is it pretty user friendly?
2) Does it save all of the deeds that you have inputted in such a way you
can pick and choose which parcels you want to display? In other words, if I
input the 20 deeds that I need to use for this project and then I decide I
only want to display 16 of them, can I pick the 16 I want and then create
the map? Can I come back later and chose 12?
3) I would be interested in using background maps. I went to the libre.org
site and I found a map that will work. All of the parcels are on Hog Swamp
in Robeson County, NC. There is a map just for Hog Swamp so I think I am
in business. So all I have to do is save this map to the same folder as the
deeds and the program will recognize the map and will be able to put the
parcels on the map in the correct spots?
