Use the Group command to create a group of parcels. (Select multiple
parcels by clicking while holding the Ctrl key down, then right click and
select Grouped). Once you do that the whole group is selected whenever you
click any of the members. To add or subtract from the group you just select
a parcel in the group, press the Ctrl key and click to add or remove a
member, then do the Grouped command twice.
If parcels are stacked and you want to select a specific one in the stack
you should be able to do that by just continuing to click the mouse on the
stack. It will cycle through each parcel in the stack.
Rubberband select of multiple parcels might also be a help in the stacking
situation. Press the Ctrl key then put the mouse pointer at the upper left
corner of the stack. Press the left mouse button and hold it. After a
short delay the crosshair cursor will show. Drag to the lower right
enclosing a rectangle of parcels, then release mouse and key. All parcels
that impinge on the rectangle will now be selected. (If you accidentally
picked up some unwanted parcels you can press the Ctrl key and deselect
Selection can sometimes be easier in the Table View, particularly if the
deeds of interest are close together in the view. You can hold the Ctrl
key and add/remove parcels, then open the Edit menu and select Grouped.
And, finally, the deed filter can be a help. Suppose you have a group of
parcels that you want to work with. Let's call it Group 1. Go into each
deed in the group and add a comment like this-- an exclamation mark and some
! Group 1
Then use the deed filter to display only the parcels that contain the text
Group 1. All other parcels will be shut off.
