I don't have PaintShop, so can't be of much help with that program. But if
it uses layers, here's what I did that you may be able to adapt.
I haven't done this for years, but it seems that the last time I did, I
wound up making a layered drawing from the saved images using Adobe
Illustrator and PhotoShop. It was time consuming, but the results were
spectacular. And, by doing this, I could do the meanders a bit better as
well. This way I could use any map (a nice TOPO from GNIS or a modern
satellite map) for a base, but have the plats on top.
I do recall that I opened the plats in PhotoShop first, and used the magic
wand tool to delete all the white space, so the only thing left were the
An advantage also is that you can make the lines any color you want -- I use
white on the sat-maps for contrast.
Wish I could remember exactly how I did it, maybe someone else has done it
