I did run into a situation with Deedmapper last week that I would like
some advice on. I frequently back up my Deedmapper files on a floppy disc.
After getting about 200 plats entered, I discovered that they would not
all fit on one floppy. I finally realized I could save just the plat data
and not the maps so I circumvented the problem for now. My questions is if
there is a way to make Deedmapper save a project on more than one floppy or
will I eventually need to split my project into several files?<
Using a standard compression utility (like WinZip) certainly should enable
you to get your 1200 plat project onto a 1.4M floppy unless you're writing
a book on each property. My own "daily" backup involves saving the *.mbl
files for several DM projects totalling over 5000 plats in a single *.zip
file which - while well over 1M - does fit on a 3.5" disk. (By the time I
finish full in-place commentary on all of these, I expect to need two
floppies.) Maps, as you say, require another floppy.
