If you use Internet Explorer as your browser, read on.
It's been discovered that if you right click on a .gz file in our Deed Data Pool and
select Save, the browser actually decompresses the file as it saves it. Unfortunately
it doesn't tell you this, so it continues to look like a .gz file to you. If you try
it there is an unhelpful error message-- "Invalid archive directory". You
to unzip the file. Just rename it to .mbl (if you want to open it DeedMapper), or
to .txt (if you want to look at it in a text editor).
