I have some plats of McComb lands in Camden and a few in Charleston. I plan
to start my own platting project with Deedmapper sometime..

I have also worked with plats in SC, mostly Sumter County. There are odd
features sometimes. I presume the surveyors took notes on scraps of
paper and drew the plats later. Sometimes it seems they reversed
directions; sometimes they copied one boundary twice. The good thing
about having the plats, of course, is that you can see at once that
SOMETHING is wrong.
Incidentally, I have only worked in NC and in SC, but in my opinion if
you are working in these areas you really have to start with the
original patents, as opposed to later deeds, because so many errors
