This sounds unusual. Why the E and W are upside down is a mystery to me.
Do reversed directional letters indicate a counter clock-wise running
I have a plat, drawn by a surveyor and recorded in the deed book, wherein
the letters on the compass rose are in the correct positions (N at top, E
right, etc). but the letters for east and west are backwards. In
words, the "fingers" on the E point to the left instead of right, and the
has been flipped over so it looks more like an M.
The drawing was recorded with the deed, so I didn't have to plat it. The
first 2 calls read, ...thence with his line corrected, S1/30E 188.5
and then with John Greggs line Corrected S77/30 E 73 poles... When
follows these calls, the lines do go clockwise. Is this unusual?
