My question is somewhat off-topic but relates to the often-used phrase "on the waters
of So-and-so Creek/River." I'm researching TN and KY courthouse records. Does
this phrase mean the parcel of land literally abuts the stream or could the parcel be
located anywhere in the stream's basin, some distance from the edge of the stream? I
enjoy researching land records but until recently, it has been limited to federal land
states so I'm just learning how to interpret these documents in other states. I joined
the list to see how I might use DeedMapper in this research.
Thanks for your time!
