I found some very interesting DANIEL names in the marriage record
history of the HOPEWELL FRIENDS HISTORY 1734-1934 of Frederick County,
Virginia, Volume 2.
Does anyone know anything about this family? Given names listed in this
Quaker history are: Andrew, Joseph H., Robert, William, Hannah, Mary Ann and
Margaret and this would be in the pre-1800 time frame.
The reason I ask is my RENEAU and RAMSEY families are sitting in the
same general area in the same time frame. I also know there was a Joseph
and Robert DANIEL in Burke County, GA in the 1820 time frame and this
matches the given names listed in this group. We also know that Burke
County, GA was a big Quaker haven in the late 1700's and a lot of these
Quakers later became Methodists.
In my opinion, there were a awful lot of families in this Quaker history
which appear to be many of the same families I later see in the Augusta and
Madison, GA areas in a later time frame. We all should know by now the
Quakers had lots of money which also seems to fit the profile of, at least,
my DANIEL family as well as most families in Madison, Morgan County, GA.
This was the same group of which Daniel BOONE was a member and we also see
the BOONES and their related families among or around many of our later GA
Any information is appreciated.
