I have not figured out the Perry County, AL connection in this family,
as of yet, but this is the same Beverly DANIEL, from all indications. Ruth
(Newland) transcribed that probate information. I do not know the
connection to Perry County, AL but if those are his brothers, then he is a
son of CD and JWC.
As for what he did, I read he was a general in the militia but I would
not doubt if he was the AJ of NC, too. It seems this family rolled around
in high places and prominent positions.
My guess is he inherited the place in Perry County, AL I do not have
any indication he ever lived there.
I think we need to chase that George DANIEL who married his sister,
Martha Julia DANIEL, in 1786 because we know he was her 2nd cousin and as
such, the grandfather of Martha Julia would have been George's grandfather,
too. That's the rule on second cousins.
So, who was George?

Subject: Re: [DANIEL-L] Beverly DANIEL of Raleigh, NC
Okay, I confess to a little confusion - not an all that uncommon
Could some one clear up my ignorance. According to John's information
below, Beverly Daniel of Raleigh died in 1840, after a 30 year career as
Marshall in NC (I think I also saw a record of him as Attorney
NC, which is probably why John refers to him as General.)
But Beverly Daniel apparently also had an estate in Perry County, AL which
was probated in 1844. I have seen estates probated some time after the
death of the owner, so the 4 years between stated age at death don't
me too much. But I do have a question about how he ended up with an
in Perry Co, AL. Did he take a few years off from NC to set himself
Perry Co, or did he inherit an estate there?
Plus, there is a death announcement for a Beverly Daniel in the Raleigh
Register for 1836. Different Beverly, I assume?
