I know that we've communicationed before about Isaac Daniel who m. Roseanna
Weatherford married in Monroe Co., AL. in 1836 - in relationship to Isaac
Daniel and Levina Weatherford. These two can't help but be related.
You probably know that the Weatherford surname is connected with William
Weatherford aka Red Eagle, chief of the Creek Indians (he was 1/8th Indian)
that lived in and around Baldwin & Monroe Co. William Weatherford aka Red
Eagle led a Creek attack on Fort Mims in 1813 - The Fort Mims Massacre where
approx. 130 settlers/soldiers (men, women, & children) were killed.
Most of the Troops called upon to help Andrew Jackson in this campaign came
out of TN(War of 1812). And, one of the most amazing facts is William
Weatherford was related or was later related by marriage to many of the
victim families of this Massacre. At the time there was such an uproar from
the settlers to take Weatherford's life - that Andrew Jackson took "Red
Eagle" aka William Weatherford to his home - the Hermitage in TN for his
protection, where Red Eagle lived for almost a year. Jackson admired Red
Eagle's strength of character and personal courage to do the right thing,
even at the risk of losing his life.
The Roseanna that I'd mentioned above was the neice of William Weatherford.
