A while back I posted a query regarding William Jeremiah Daniel as I connected with Keith
Ash, *SIS(has same email addy as Keith) and tjames and now with Bill Giles who didn't
even know his data was on GEDmatch.com
and doesn't know if he has any Daniel/Daniels
in his family line although he also matches with the ones I named above.
tjames is a definite cousin as her grandfather and my grandmother were siblings. She also
connects to Keith,*SIS and Bill Giles.
Keith and *SIS connect with William Jeremiah through his daughter Celia/Cecilia Daniel who
married Berry Henry Turner in Georgia. She was born in North Carolina and lived to the
age of 75 and died in Georgia. They had 11 children together.
William Jeremiah Daniel/Daniels was b. ca. 1782 in Buncombe County, North Carolina. He
was the father of 14 children. He was married to Sarah Self who may have been a 2nd wife.
His second child Elizabeth was b ca.1802 in South Carolina and had married Benjamin
Cain. She was interviewed at the age of 100 in Lumpkin County, Georgia She referred to
Sarah Self as "Miss Sarah Self" which was a "southern way" of
referring to one's father's wife/stepmother. His first wife may have been
Elizabeth Lowe or Upton. The Self surname I find interesting as Jeremiah "Jerry"
"Jerome" Daniel, s/o Bazel/Basel Daniel, married Susannah Self. They married in
1825 in Clay County, Illinois. William Jeremiah's parents, according to some family
trees, was Joseph Job Daniel and Elizabeth Calaway/Callaway.
It appears the William Jeremiah Daniel/Daniels ended up in Georgia through the Georgia
Land Lottery due to his service in the War of 1812.
Does anyone else connect to this family line?
