Joseph Daniel of Waqua Creek in Brunswick Cty., Va was born probably about
1723 and died in Brunswick Cty. about 1794. He left a will dated 12 Jan.
1793 and recorded 27 Oct 1794 in Brunswick as follows:
To my wife Mary - lend to her for life or her widowhood 500 acres where I
now live, with all my stock, household stuff, & the plantation utensils,
after her death or widowhood I give the land with 1 horse, 3 cows and calves,
2 sows and pigs, 1 feather bed and furniture to my two daughters Elizabeth
Daniel and Martha Daniel
To my sons Thomas and Joseph - the lands they live on "as bounded by Deeds
made to them"
To my daughter Mary Hawkes - 1 shilling
To my daughter Sarah Daniel - 5 shillings. (Probably married to a

Peter Daniel Of Prince George Cty., bought land on Crablouse Creek in
1744. It is apparent his family went to Halifax Cty., NC and Rowan Cty.
Daughter Sarah (married Hugh Edwards in Brunswick) and brother William (M. Sarah
Hendrix) and James Daniel (m. Elizabeth West) and was father of the West
Daniel crowd. Brothers Peter and Randol (sic) seem to have ended in Rowan
Then there is Marmaduke Sr & Jr said to be of the Maherrin Parish in
Brunswick who eventually surface in Chatham Cty., NC. There also was a Hugh
Daniel mentioned with them several times and Gilliam Daniel who was in Chatham
shortly but later in Orange Cty.
