I can tell you a lot about the Sanders WALKER family. Sanders (1739-1805)
was a Baptist preacher from Prince William County, Virginia and who died in
Oglethorpe County, GA. Sanders was the s/o James WALKER RS-NC (ABT
1712-1792) and Mary Ann SANDERS of Westmorland County, VA and later, Orange
He was married to Sarah LAMAR, d/o (I am guessing on this one) John LAMAR
and Sarah LAMAR of Queen Anne's Parish, Prince George's County, Maryland and
later, Richmond County, GA. Notice your CALLOWAY connection -- well, they
are a Maryland family, too, and they are related to my RICHTER bunch in
Madison, Morgan County, Ga through the FITZPATRICKS. The FITZPATRICKS,
originally from Fauquier County, VA, were one of the founding families of
Morgan County, GA.
Rev. Sanders WALKERS children:
i. Martha Lamar WALKER (1777-1846) married Young STOKES
ii. Sarah Lamer WALKER (d. AFT 1830) married Jesse STALLINGS
iii. Nancy Ann WALKER (b. ABT 1774) married John SMITH
iv. Jeremiah H. WALKER (1783-1855) married Elizabeth STROZIER
v. Elizabeth WALKER (1886-1819) married the Hon. Wilson LUMPKIN, Esq.
Most of these families were big Madison, GA families. This WALKER family is
a little different from the John Byne WALKER family who was also of Madison.
His family was originally from Burke County, GA and lived right next to my
DANIEL or DANIELL bunch, there. They were all Baptist, though. The BYNES
were originally from Ireland.
I would really like to hear more about that Charles McDONALD of Charleston,
though. That name really interests me.
The above families were some of the "moneyed" families of Madison. There
were no share croppers in this bunch. The LAMAR family was one of the First
Families of Georgia and according to some, GA would not have been the same
without the contributions of the LAMAR family. The STOKES were from
Lunenburg County, Virginia.

John, here are a few records on a couple of these folks. It looks as
they were in Wilkes County before going to Greene. Notice that John King
from Gloucester County, VA and that he was in close with George
Matthew was the fellow who brought to GA a good size colony of VA and NC
(and families) who served with him during the Revolutionary War. The
Creek Cunninghams were part of this colony, and almost certainly, the
related Daniel bunch were, too. If William were in the middle of that
he could also be connected.
