That's not exactly what I said. I said there were two sets of GEDCOMS
for Edmund DANIEL at World Connect and one said Edmund DANIEL married a
WELBOURNE girl in 1825 and another said he married her in 1861. One of
these was incorrect.
Heard County, GA is also one of the GA counties that I do not have
pre-1850 DANIEL marriage information for so I could not reconcile these
differences, however he did not marry this Julia in Heard County, GA. He
married her in Oglethorpe County, GA.
This said, the following persons may also be part of this DANIEL family:
Daniel, Berry married Berry, Susan on 18 Jun 1810 in Oglethorpe County,
Daniel, James married Andrews, Frances on 25 Oct 1813 in Oglethorpe County,
Daniel, Edmond married Welborn, Julia A. on 05 Jan 1825 in Oglethorpe
Scott, John married Daniel, Martha Ann on 11 Nov 1841 in Oglethorpe County,
Daniel, David C. married Gresham, Mary on 29 Jun 1842 in Oglethorpe County,
Daniel, John W. married Beman, Mary on 18 Sep 1850 in Oglethorpe County,
John R. Clarke

In a message dated 4/9/2003 8:51:38 PM Central Daylight Time,
> You might want to take a closer look at this assignment. The James
> b.11/24/1831 Heard County, Ga. d. 6/6/1919 Troup Co. Ga. you
> could not have been the son of Edmund DANIEL and Julia Ann WELBORNE (20
> 1842 - 12 Mar 1914 ), since Edmund DANIEL did not marry her
until 21 May
> 1861 in Heard County, GA, some 30 years after this James was born.
Geesh, I hate getting in on the middle of a conversation... however, I
insert that Robert James DANIEL and Garland Payne DANIEL are
correct [Payne has just about this entire family on his website regarding
these particular DANIELs].
My [only one great] grandparents: Edmund DANIEL, b: 3 NOV 1800 and son of
Henning DANIEL and Hannah ASBURY, married Julia Anne WELLBOURNE on 5 JAN
[NOT 21 MAY 1861] ~ She was born 24 JAN 1808, Edgefield, South
died 3 MAR 1886, Heard County, Georgia. Daughter of Jeremiah
Sarah "Polly" HUDSON, daughter of William HUDSON
James DANIEL, b: 24 NOV 1831 ~ d: 6 JUN 1919 WAS THE SON OF Edmund and
Anne ~ He married 21 DEC 1854 Troup County, Georgia to Virginia
8 FEB 1837 Troup County, Georgia ~ died 24 APR 1905 Troup County.
of Robert JENNINGS,Jr. and Eloise BROWN. Robert, Jr. the son of
JENNINGS, Sr. and Elizabeth ARNOLD.
> least, that is what two GEDCOMS at World Connect show for this Edmund
> who married this WELBORNE girl. This is from the MEADOWS database at
If the above is from a MEADOWS database ~ then they certainly should know
better as a daughter of Edmund DANIEL and Julia Anne WILLBOURNE married
the MEADOWS family.
Temperance Pennina DANIEL, b: 20 DEC 1842 married Simeon Joseph MEADOWS,
of Simeon Whatley MEADOWS, the son of Daniel MEADOWS.
> Another GEDCOM says that Edmund S. DANIEL (1800-1879) married a
> Ann WILLBOURNE or WILBORNE (1808-1886) on 5 JAN 1825 in
> Georgia and this family, also, was from Heard County, GA. This
> appears to be part of the Henning DANIEL and Hannah ASBURY family out of
> Greene County, GA. According to one GEDCOM at World Connect, this
> information was from the History of Heard County, GA. This assignment
> listed in three GEDCOMS at World Connect and James is not listed
> this Edmund and Julia Ann DANIEL in any one of the GEDCOMS.
James J. DANIEL who married Virginia JENNINGS was definitely a son of
and Julia Anne DANIEL.
As to Heard/Coweta County, Georgia ~ It appears there were at least two
different lines of DANIELs in the area, which haven't been connected to
date... perhaps because they weren't related. 8>) Here is a rundown on
